So Independent

Adam has become so stinkin' independent the last several weeks. This is a good thing, but I feel a little bad that he is growing up so fast. I now have no say of what he wears each day, until we get to Sunday and he has a meltdown that he can't wear his Transformer t-shirt to primary. But once in a while when he gets dressed he forgets to take off part of his pajamas, like this morning.

You can barely see his red collar from his pjs. Goofy kid!

Adam also has a funny little quirk. He cannot stand long sleeves in the least, he pushes up his sleeves to his elbows. I took me a while to realize why he had a hard time transitioning from summer clothes the winter clothes. The other night I put him in some pjs that have tighter sleeves, Adam's hands and arms are pretty chubby, and I thought this would be good since he can't roll up his sleeves at night. The next morning I found him in a different pair of pjs and his sleeves rolled up. He just waited until I left to change. On Sunday I picked him up from Sunbeams and he had gotten his teacher to unbutton his white shirt cuffs and rolled up his sweater and shirt over his elbows. He looked like he was wearing floatation devices but he was happy.

I know what you mean about the independence. It's such a double edged sword. You're happy for your kids because you know that it is good for them, but then you realize that they are growing up too fast and that causes me guilt AND anxiety sometimes :) Adam is looking cute in his transformers shirts...at least he has good taste in cartoons :)
