We had our half marathon on July 14th. It was the canyon to canyon at East Canyon. It started at the resort and it was an out and back course on mostly dirt roads. It had some pretty crazy hills and I would not recommend it to anyone doing their first half marathon. But that's what I get for looking for the cheapest one around! It was still fun and I'm so glad that I accomplished it. My time wasn't great and all the pictures are on my sister's camera, so unfortunately I can't post any. Darn:) I hate looking at them and seeing myself and how much more weight I need to lose, so I just don't look anymore. (I'm not looking for pity here)
Later that night after we recovered from running, we celebrated Emma's 2nd birthday. It was great and we got a surprise visit from Matt's sister and her family that live in Kentucky. We didn't think they were coming for a while yet and then get a knock on our door, it was great!! Em got a ton a great things and she just loved all the attention on her. I made her a hello kitty cake since she is obsessed with any thing hello kitty, and really anything with cats.
This is our trip to Montana. It was the second annual Jay Jenkins family reunion and Luke, and Lisa were in charge this year. They wanted us to see the beautiful Montana and see it we did. It was gorgeous, I loved the little tiny town it was in, with the one paved street. Most of all, Matt loved the candy store. It looked like something out of the 1920's and he declared it had the best turtles next to his grandmas. But they were called tortoises since they were huge!
We got the kids up early and let them sleep in the car and this is Em-dog by the time we got up there.
Adam was just excited to get out of the car.
Adam would follow anyone around that would help him find bugs. Uncle Jed was good enough to do it with him and Beau.
Emma and Hailey, either the best of friends or fighting over something. They seem to be slowly growing out of the fighting.
These next couple of pictures are of us walking down to explore some mines. They all ended up being closed off, but it was neat to peek inside of them.
Adam and Beau are the best of friends and they were holding hands all the time.
We visited a ghost town and it was cool to see all the structures. A little eerie.
These kids loved the dirt pile. They were absolutely filthy!
After they played, Meg and I bathed the kids in a cooler. Of course I didn't get any pictures, but I don't know if they really liked it. Then we let the kids in Meg and Ben's suburban to watch a movie while they dozed.
Right before we left we got a family picture. I wish I could take a picture and have it do justice to the beauty of the area. It was gorgeous!
Last of all it was Adam's first day of preschool! He has been so excited since May when we registered him and has asked almost daily if he starts school the next day. It's fun that he goes to the same school (just a new building) that I did and even one of the ladies that taught me is one of his teachers.
Emma had a hard time, she didn't want to leave.
He's not smiling in his pictures, but he really was so excited and he said that he loves his school. I couldn't be too sad because he was so happy about going.
I love my family!!
