I've been wanting bunk beds for a while, because Adam was about 1 inch away from growing out of his toddler bed. A twin bed and a crib would have taken up too much space, thus the need for bunk beds. We got them!! They were a hand-me-down from a hand-me-down, but are in great shape and are very sturdy and strong. Best of all the kids went crazy over them. In the words of Adam as it was being set up, "This is gonna be great!". They fought over the top, but after some coaxing and a threat to sleep in her crib that night, Emma finally relented and slept on the bottom bunk.(since there's no safety bar on the top, but I did put a pool noodle under the fitted sheet to help Adam stay on better) She has done extremely well with the transition, she's only gotten out of bed twice. Now to get rid of that binky of hers!
The other night I felt a little bad. We ran to the grocery store to get a couple of things that we ran out of, one of which was cereal. We let the kids pick fruit loops, we got home and let them indulge in a sugary pre-bed snack. I felt bad because I realized that I have never bought fruit loops for them! That was their first time tasting them, and we could tell as they both had two full bowls of it. I always buy shredded mini wheats, or chex, or something whole grain/high fiber/slightly more healthy cereal. I need to remember to let them have a fun cereal once in a while!
Adam and I have had 'school' all year with just us. We've been really working on his name. This is what I have been finding lately. Am I slightly worried about a dyslexic child? Yes. I also find 'ADMA' alot too. Hopefully it's just a slight confusion of the letters.
A week or so ago we invited Brent's in-laws-to-be over for dinner. They were probably slightly frazzled with so many kids going crazy, especially mine that night, but they seemed to enjoy it. We decided to a have an old fashion cook out. Some of my favorite memories as a child was being outside with all the Jenkins cousins and with all the aunts, uncles, and grandparents around the fire pit.
The kids are always wanting an adult on the trap to bounce them. Brent was the one they could coax over there this time.
Brent got married a week ago, and it turned out so nice!! The only stressful part was picking Matt up from the airport a mere two hours before the sealing. But it worked out that his flight was actually 15 minutes early, so I was suddenly de-stressed! We love Shelley and are so glad that Brent found someone, I would post pictures, but I need to get them from my sister. (hint, hint Meg) So go to her blog to see them:)

I agree, happy memories around the old fire pit!
I love the bunk beds!!! Adam and Emma are getting so big, they are adorable!!!
I always love new photos on the blogs. These are so great. I have the greatest family every.
Yea for bunk beds! We have a hand me down we are trying to decide if we should put them up or not, we need to make room for another baby! Carter wants one so bad! Your kids are darling! Adam is writing his letters good, even if they are mixed up Carter does the same thing and he always does his C backwards! Adam has two A's so he probably gets confused too, Carter does anyways with his two R's!
That is awesome Emma is doing so well. That is always an adjustment when they have the option of getting out. Emma's expression with the cereal is too cute. I love it!
When I first saw the bunk bed picture I thought "wow, Jess is really brave. I would be worried the top bunker would roll out." but you are so smart to put a noodle there. That's awesome that they love it. Also, I really take my hat off to you for always getting healthy cereal. I used to do that until I got pregnant the second time and then I craved sugary cereal, now we're trying to go back to healthy cereal, and I think Elle is not a happy camper. Finally, congrats to your brother. I saw the pictures on Megan's blog, and you look gorgeous. You all do. I've always been envious of you gorgeous Jenkins girls. :)
