A New Calling

Two Sundays ago my bishop made a surprise stop by my house before church and extended me a calling that I was not prepared for. I accepted and yesterday I was set apart to be the Young Women's President in my ward. I wasn't prepared because I thought I would learn to be part of a presidency first, but I guess this is part of my challenge, to just plunge right in. I am very excited about this calling, excited to get to know these girls and my counselors and to work with them.

I also am extremely intimidated.

I keep asking myself why I am intimidated by a bunch 12-18 year old girls, because it sounds so silly to feel that way. But it's the truth, I am. I've realized it's all my insecurities that come to mind, some are due to some current circumstances that will change in time, some won't change. I won't bore anyone with my childish insecurities but I know that I need to get over them if I am going to be a good president. These girls seem like they are such truly, deep-down, good girls. They deserve it good leaders! I am lucky to have a supportive husband and get all the leaders that I asked for to be in the program with me, so I'm surrounded by wonderful people!

I'm going to have to be super-duper organized, which I'm not great at sometimes, but I've always aspired to be! I'm really excited for this calling, I think I will learn and grow so much from it!!
