Adam was what I called 'the perfect church child'. Emma is exactly opposite. Where Adam was content to sit on my lap or play at my feet, Emma will run if given a chance and screams if I go catch her. I can't wait for nursery!!
Adam entertained himself well and played by himself often. Emma loves attention from Adam or myself during the day.
Adam has always loved to snuggle. Emma doesn't sit still long enough to snuggle, and she only snuggles me.
Adam is instantly forgiving. Emma holds grudges for a couple minutes.
Adam hasn't ever (that I remember) thrown himself on the floor to throw a tantrum. Emma throws herself to the ground almost daily and has a loud, sustained scream.
Adam didn't learn to playfully tease for a long time. Emma teases ALL the time. (Like pretends to kiss you but headbutts you instead, or blows raspberries in your face) She also learned to imaginary play much quicker.
Adam melts when you get mad at him, he just hates it. Emma usually just gets mad back.
Adam didn't really talk until he was 2 years+. Emma is already saying more words than he did.
Adam started waking up a little earlier in the mornings. Emma still sleeps until 8.
Adam didn't care how I dressed him until just recently. Emma insists on certain shoes each day.
Some of these I attribute to Emma being the second child. Though I remember in all my psychology classes learning about the birth order and the personality traits that accompany the specific order, so maybe that has a little something to do with it also. Even though some of these are complete opposites, and it sounds like I favor Adams trait, I wouldn't change a single thing about them because Emma puts her own little touch on these differences and it's so fun to see what she does (or doesn't do) next. Maybe it's just because she's a girl, so she just brings a dramatic flare with her, but I love her sassy-ness and I just pray that I can channel that feisty little girl in the right direction as she grows into a teenager and then I know she'll be okay. But, at the same time I love Adam's sweet and sensitive personality, usually so predictable.
I love these two!

Oh man, I love hearing how every kid comes with their own little personalities, ha. They are all cute in their own sweet ways :)
Sounds like you have a little firecracker on your hands. It's a good thing she has a big caring brother that will help mom and dad keep a head on her shoulders. 80)
Oh I loved reading the differences on these two, though it does make me pretty anxious to have my second. Elle is more like Emma...feisty to the core....except in public. I've always said she's a very polite-in-public gal, which I've appreciated, but she sure loves to save those throw-on-the-floor tantrums for home. :)
