Jenkins Reunion

Sorry you have to hear about another family reunion, but I'm posting it anyways! We got together for the annual Jenkins reunion up in Petersen this year, which is so pretty up there. I said I would love to live up there, which Matt adamantly disagreed to. (There are only a small handful of places we agree where we could live:) ) But it was an overnighter and we all had a great time except for the fact that we froze at night! Every year we get together I think of how grateful I am to belong to this family and to have the heritage that I do!

We got up there Friday afternoon and they had an activity for the kids, it was an official snake hunt. Last year my cousin took all the kids on one and they actually found a snake and they had so much fun that this year they put it on the itinerary!

Of course for the snake hunt they all needed a gun, so Adam and Beau listened so carefully as to how can they paint them. These two are starting to really get along and have become the best of friends, it's nice that they hardly ever fight anymore!

Adam wouldn't let me help him in the least and was so careful when he painted his, (note the tongue hanging in determined concentration!) and he really surprised me at how well and evenly he painted it. I saw a lot of his Dad in him while he was painting, just a little obsessive on how perfect he wanted it!(I still love you, Matt!)

My cousin Melissa was in charge of the snake hunt and went all out, she brought a book on snake and totally had every child's undivided attention.

Here is Abigial, Carly, Adam, and Beau listening to the book. It actually was a really cool book of different kinds of snakes and neat pictures. Turns out Adam loves snakes.

Oh, and what snake hunting kit is complete without a snake charmer flute? They all got one so they could charm the snakes to come out.

Emma found a new friend up there. My cousin's gorgeous wife Shawnee, and Em probably loved her all the more since she let her play with the oh so coveted sunglasses!

Emma and Hailey had a blast playing together too.

Who wouldn't want to wake up to this beautiful girl? If she has pigtails the day before, this is the awesome hair she has in the morning:)

It was a great family reunion and I look forward to summer every year because of get-togethers like these. I love my family!
