Lots of 'firsts'

Well, we've been having a blast these last couple weeks with Adam (and I'm sorry that he will be what I mostly blog about from now on) It was fun to have him enjoy the 4th of July, since it's my favorite holiday I hope that someday he enjoys it as much as I do. He loved the fireworks, for a while he just stared and he didn't even flinch with the loud ones. He was able to go boating for the first time, even though he and I hung out on the beach and he mostly slept the whole time. He attended his first annual Jenkins family reunion, and he enjoyed spending most of the day up at Weber State for the 24th of July fireworks, I was worried about the cannons and that he wouldn't like it, so I bundled him up tight in a thick blanket to try to mute the sound, and once again he didn't even cry at all, and yes he did pass his hearing test, so it's not like he's deaf. And this last week he went to church for the first time, I don't think he liked relief society though because the minute we sat down he started crying! But last night was a first for me, I was up at 2:30 feeding him and after changed his diaper. I have learned quickly to be careful about taking off the diaper and getting a surprise, but I was tired and I didn't have my glasses on and I only had a little lamp on and I can't see hardly anything anyways, and so I have to lean forward to kind of see what I'm doing, and of course I get a little squirt of pee on my face and hair before I can cover him back up! It's so much fun watching him grow, I know it's hardly been 4 weeks, but he has already changed so much, and he's starting to recognize faces and voices better and to smile back at us. This is the most rewarding thing in the whole world!

It's okay that he will be the center of your blogs now. He is the center of your life. Congrats on having such a cute baby boy.

That is so funny. I have never had that problem. Owen was always so good to keep his pee to himself. Olivia is harder I think. She is always peeing out of her diaper in the middle of the night. So, then I am up at 3:00 AM changing crib sheets, blankets and PJ's. And then because she is up she talks (loudly) to herself while we are all listening in the other room trying to sleep. I have just come to realize now that I have two, I will literally never sleep again!
