Two Pack Rats

So school has finally ended (yeah!!!) and I've been excited to finally have some time to clean up our one spare room that we have to make room for the baby. I figured since I have 7 weeks to go, that the next 3 or 4 weeks could be used to fix up the room before I get too uncomfortable to really move around a lot. On Saturday I looked at the room and was pretty overwhelmed, I wasn't quite sure where to start! Now we don't have a lot of storage space, so everything that we have is in this room. Think about it... 3 and 1/2 years of marriage, both working 40 hours and going to school full time, not much time to organize. So this room is the 'throw it back there till we can find a place for it' room. I worked very hard for a couple hours on Saturday, and I can barely tell a difference. It's so sad!! I've decided that both Matt and I are pack rats to the worst extent, and it's worse that we live together and are pack rats together! We are definitely going to have to do some major un-pack ratting (if that's really a word) before this baby gets here because we just don't have the room. So hopefully this baby won't come early, because I'm afraid we won't be ready! My advice to everyone, don't be a pack-rat!

This blog made me laugh because that is what we are doing right now as well. We've both gone to school full-time and worked full-time since we've been married, and now that we are both graduating it's like we finally have time to have a clean, organized household. Good luck!

Glad to find your blog! You'll get it all worked out OK. We had the same problem. I wasn't in school, but as my friends will tell you, I was in denial about having the baby in only a few short weeks. Our extra room was a catch all for anything that didn't have home. I was shocked how much I ended up throwing away. When we finally got it done I was shocked how much junk comes with a 7 lb baby. Now we are trying to organize baby swing, jumpers, rockers, etc. He has more junk than us. Good Luck!
